3 Top London Spots for Alternative Dining

It is no surprise to some that London is featuring as one of the hottest places to visit this winter for an alternative night out. Full of the hustle and bustle of students and business workers heading for a quick drink after hours, the city really is endless when it comes to spots you just wouldn’t want to miss.

The last year has seen a huge change in the way we, as diners, choose to enjoy our food. New restaurants and cafes are popping up everywhere, with the aim to deliver exciting and new ways of enjoying our dinner as well as appreciating the food itself.

Here at SANT, we have compiled a list of the best spots in the area. Tried and tested, these new experiences will be certain to spruce up any date or meeting! So grab your friends, other halves, parents, or kids, and head down to one of these amazing new spaces.

Dans Le Noir

Directly translating as ‘in the dark’, this restaurant is fairly self-explanatory. The plot: dining in the dark. Why? The team at Dans Le Noir have one special thing in common, as the waiters are visually impaired. The idea here is to experience what the staff experience on a day to day basis; however, dining in the dark has also been rumoured to heighten your other senses. Surprise Menus are generated every week, offering new and exciting flavours to excite your taste buds. Head to Clerkenwell and plunge into this unique sensory experience this winter.

Chamber of Flavours

Chamber of Flavours offers its guests an experience like no other. With mysterious welcome cocktails, a five course meal, and an evening of fun and entertainment, this one is certain to get taste buds tantalising and your heart racing! The catch? The location of “Lionel Sterling Grey’s Inter-dimensional Dining Machine” is kept top secret until the day of the event, so make sure you’re prepared to be amazed and stay local in the city!

Run For Your Bun

David Lloyd Leisure Group really is on to something here. Feeling a little overweight and underpaid after the Christmas period? Fear no more, as Run for your Bun café opened its doors to Londoners this month! The concept: a gym-style café where you pay for your food in exercise. Squat your way to a hotdog or lunge until you’ve earned a bacon roll, the idea is truly revolutionary, and one we are seriously excited about. The pop up, which was open for three days in Covent Garden, really was a ‘HITT’ (pun totally intended)!
