At this time of year, you want to make your home as cosy and warm as possible, so we are here to get you prepared for the cold autumn and winter months that are coming up.
First of all, you need to get your hands on anything and everything in shades of brown and orange, as well as every blanket you can set your eyes on. And don’t forget to place fairy lights and flowers in every room.
The first item you should be styling your home with is multiple pumpkins. You can never have too many, so go ahead and scatter them around the kitchen, dining room, living room, and front porch.
The cheapest hack which anyone can do to give their home an autumnal vibe is to search for red, orange, and yellow leaves in the garden along with pine cones to set around your fireplace or coffee tables.
You can even get a little creative and spray the pine cones with a shimmer before placing them in a clear bowl or wicker basket with fairy lights or candles to illuminate them. Similarly, this can be done with the leaves if you glue them into place in mason jars after giving them a copper-gold coating.
But it’s no use having all these gorgeous and welcoming decorations laid out if your home isn’t filled with the warmth and smell of cinnamon-scented candles. But if that’s not your cup of tea, then any of your own signature scents is perfectly fine.
It’s also important to get the right cushions to match your colour scheme to compliment the cosy blankets draped over the sofa, which guests are really going to appreciate when it’s time to cuddle up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate and pumpkin pie.
Speaking of pumpkin pie, don’t forget that your kitchen and dining area will also need some autumn love. You can do so by displaying autumnal fruits on the kitchen counter and as a dining table centrepiece. And for the kitchen door, autumn wreaths are becoming more popular, so be sure to grab the biggest and brightest. Your neighbours will envy you.
