The revolution of denim

The diversity of the denim gives you a way to wear denim clothes everyday – for every mood there is a pair of jeans or denim co-ordinates. Patchwork, retro styles, embellished and decorated denim are only some of the transformation of this never aging fabric. The denim is the fabric that can be always found in our wardrobes. The designers have experimented with denim in different ways, and its revolution in the last couple of seasons is remarkable. Here are some of the most outstanding elements from the SS2015 catwalks.

Vibrant blue indigo denims

The indigo blue evokes a 70s feeling of a retro style. These shades were noticed on co-ordinates and a matching jacket and jeans, in order to give the look stronger impact of colour. On the catwalk, Gucci showed amazing indigo combinations, and during London Fashion Week, Ashish demonstrated dramatic indigo decorated denim pieces.

Denim is versatile and its extravagance gives the designers a huge field for development of new ideas. The approaches to prints, decorations, embellishments and patterns are outstanding. Dolce & Gabbana presented a series of decorated jeans in their SS15 collection. Ashish combined jacket and jeans in extravagant sequins set. For Jean Paul-Gaultier, the denim had the theatrical element again, featuring embellishments. The emerging trend of patchwork denim is emblematic for the collection of Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan and Maison Martin Margiela. This patchwork trend continues in the autumn/winter collections with incredible development as well. This certainly makes people curious about where the revolution of denim will lead to in the next season.

90s inspired denim style was noticed at the street style inspirations from the recent Coachella festival. The double denim or the so-called co-ordinates – matching top and bottom is one of the updated, head-to-toe silhouettes for the summer season. Other favourite shades for the season are the white and creamy denim ones. Whether on super skinny, boyfriend or knee-ripped, the white jeans are a must-have item for this summer.
