With this pandemic and when the country locked down, millions of people from across the globe went out and purchased bicycles, despite the extent to which they could still enjoy the outdoors.
Cycling is one of the best ways to get to know a city. And while you could just hop on your bike and start riding on the road, that’s not always very safe or relaxing, especially when you don’t know your way around. Covid19 has successfully reinforced a trend: officials have been building out the infrastructure needed to make cycling safe for all Americans.
These days, many U.S. cities offer the most amazing bike paths that even beginners can enjoy. Through diverse terrain, there are more paths you can enjoy without ever crossing a busy street packed with cars. You’ll be able to explore a new city at a leisurely pace, stopping at parks, coffee shops, bars, ice cream shops, public art exhibits, and historic landmarks along the way.
Even though San Francisco has hilly terrain that is challenging for cyclists, it had the highest score in the ranking, mainly due to its broad cycling community and favorable climate. Portland, Oregon and Fort Collins, Colorado, came second and third, respectively.
Hence, if you are are living in one for these cities, I envy you, you are so lucky! You get to enjoy riding your bike, bask under the warmth of the sun while exploring the great trails with your friend and loved ones. Cycling is a very effective form of exercise which is so ideal at this time so yes, it’s an all in one experience for you.
Just a friendly reminder from me, choose to get and stay fit, go where you need to go and have fun doing it. And cycling is indeed a way to get this done!
