While the whole world sits at home waiting for the passing of this devastating virus, everyone has all of the time in the world to plan their life and do some much needed research and development for when everything reopens. Who says that only people should be doing this sort of introspection? Maybe companies should join!
So I thought I would maybe take this opportunity to give Apple some ideas of things I’d like for them to come out with. If there is anything that Apple has proven over the years, it’s that they are usually not the FIRST to market with brand new technology, and flashy features, but when they do finally show up to market, the product is GREAT.
So here is some stuff that already exists, that I want Apple to take a swing at.
- Bikes: Yeah, that’s right. Bikes. Why not? Just take a second to imagine how awesome that would be. It would probably be electric, it would probably be sleek, it would probably connect to your phone. It would be all the things that we wish the Bird scooters were. Give that a try Apple? I would take a scooter as well.
- WiFi Hotspot: I’m actually surprised that Apple hasn’t already jumped on this. They used to have the AirPort which I think they still sell, but for some reason it’s not all that popular. I think a WiFi Hotspot like skyroam would be great! Now, of course, I understand that iPhones and iPads can act as their own HotSpot but it’s not the full extent of what it COULD be. It would work seamlessly like the AirPods as far as connection, and could act as the perfect hub for all of your apple devices.
- Televisions: Again, I’m aware that Apple already has an Apple TV product that you can connect to a television, but why not the whole TV. Roku did it, and they did a terrible job if you want my opinion. It’s not very responsive or functional, but a smart TV from Apple would be amazing. Their design elements, their screen technology patents that give us Retina displays could be leveraged for the monitors. What gives Apple? Where is our TV?
- Printer: Also surprising that Apple has never even tried printers. The biggest complaint people always have about printers is their connectivity and ease of use, these are two things Apple has always excelled in, so use it for printing. Sure, we aren’t printing out that many documents anymore considering how digital everything has become, but what about photograph printing. Being able to print a phone wirelessly from your iPhone without a second thought would absolutely be a fun way to stash your memories. These printers exist, but are they Apple quality? No.
- Home Medical Devices: You young folks aren’t thinking about this, but I would love to have an Apple blood pressure meter or a thermometer that connects perfectly with my devices and my Apple Health app. Who knows, maybe we evolve into Apple foot massagers and heated blankets. The medical world is largely untapped.
These are just ideas folks, I doubt this blog post will actually inspire Tim Cook, but a boy can dream. In the meantime, if you’d like to help, send Tim an email and let him know your ideas, he’s just sitting at home like you are, he might open it!
